The Municipal museum of Jelsa actively participates in the social and cultural life of the local community and promotes cultural identities of its own past and present community. As such, it invites the broadest public and encourages informal learning, critical approach to tradition and artistic production whose goal is to raise the level of cultural life and contribute to the creation of an open and creative community. The vision of the exhibition program is to contribute to a better understanding of our own cultural history, promote this tourist destination as well as encourage local population to actively participate in artistic and cultural activities which will turn this island into a place of contemporary art production.
